Madville

Madville is a blogging community having many cool features. Founded in 2001, Madville is a Web community of 17,000 members and is growing every day. News, unusual links, games, weblogs, comic drawings and various oddities all come together on Madville to make it a unique Internet experience. Madville sponsors a monthly link contest where the top 3 members whose links receive the most referrals from outside of Madville will win prizes. Madville also sponsors a weekly comic contest where comic renderings made using MsPaint are entered. The weekly winner receives a month of premium privileges. The features of the site are:

  • Submit Link: You can post your links over here. The site’s moderators will check your link in the order in which it was received and decide whether to approve or reject it. You can view the status of your submitted links from your account page. If your link is approved, you will earn 5 points.
  • Submit Blognatorial: In this section you can post your journals. However, there is only one allowed per day. Madville offers our members a Blognitorial section where Weblogs meet Editorials. You can post items of interest, look for advice, or just entertain your fellow Madvillians. Every day there is a new batch of interesting topics to discuss. Each blog is assigned a category to make it easier for member to find the type of blog that is most likely to interest them.
  • Top Content: Here you can read the most read and the most commented articles. Madville allows you to see at a glance how many other readers were interested in each link, which is a good way to spot the most popular items each day. You can read the commentary submitted by other users and post your own thoughts and opinions. It’s no secret that some of the comments can be more entertaining than the news itself. Madville members are free to submit almost any comment they wish, but there are some limitations. Madville moderators review all of the content and remove any highly offensive remarks.
  • Chat: For those of you who like to chat in a more dynamic fashion, there is also Madville Chat. The Madville Chat room is sometimes quite crowded and occasionally sparse. The only way to find out is to hop in. This room is essentially uncensored so enter at your own risk.
