A collaborative blog is a blog where the posts are written by many users. It is emerging as a nice way to run a blog as there are many authors and the blog is never short of posts. Generally, the theme is not changed by the bloggers in this type of blog.
Types of collaborative blog:
- Invite only: In this type of blog the authors of the the blog are selected by the founder of the blog. The advantage of this type of blog is that there are many authors for the blog so the load of the admin is greatly reduced.
You can create a free invite only collaborative blog with the help of blogger:- Create a normal blog with the help of blogger. You can read my post “Steps to create a free blog in Blogger” if you want to know how to create a free blog using blogger.
- Login in to the admin area with your id and pwd.
- Click on Settings tab at the top and then click on Permissions tab under it.
- Then, click on Add Authors to add new authors for your blog. Simply add the email address of the person you wish to invite as an author. They will receive an email with the link to accept the invitation. If they click on the link in that email they will be set as author to your blog. For example: Check the blog: http://blogforthatsblog.blogspot.com In this blog the post “Create a free collaborative blog with the help of blogger” is posted by Maneesh and the post “Steps to create a free blog in Blogger.com:” is posted by Thatsblog.
- Open invite: In this type of collaborative blog anyone can join and start posting. An example of this type of blog is: dailykos.com The main disadvantage of this type of blog is that you can get irrelevant posts in your blog.
