SpamCop is a free spam reporting service, allowing recipients of unsolicited bulk email (UBE) and unsolicited commercial email (UCE) to report offenses to the senders’ Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and sometimes their web hosts. SpamCop uses these reports to compile a DNSBL of computers sending spam called the SpamCop Blocking List, (SCBL) and websites referenced in the spam are used to create the Spam URI Realtime Blocklists (SURBL) RHSBL. SpamCop determines the origin of unwanted email and reports it to the relevant Internet service providers. By reporting spam, you have a positive impact on the problem. Reporting unsolicited email also helps feed spam filtering systems, including, but not limited to, SpamCop’s own service. SpamCop offers free and premium reporting services to report spam quickly and accurately. SpamCop reporting streamlines the process of determining the origin of spam emails and reporting them to the relevant Internet service providers. In addition to providing direct feedback to Internet service providers, SpamCop reports fuel the SpamCop blocking list.
